AFRICAN CONNECTION THEATRE
OBJECTIVE:
To form a FORMIDABLE AFRICAN THEATRE, That would Enhance the presentation of MUSICALS(from traditional to contemporary)DANCES(ritual,social,creative dances ranging from cultural to traditional and contemporary.)DRAMA(both traditional and contemporary) and also DANCE-DRAMAS(this is music and dance combined to tell stories and relate messages. The Theatre will be open to both Adults and Children.(Note should be taken as regards to the ages of the Children.The youngest should be about seven(7) years of age,or,old enough to follow instructions and teachings. The theatre will also be a place where the “INTERNS” who participate in the theatre programs will be able to graduate and be able to put together Programs and events of their own,according to their own creative abilities.The different hidden talents will also be brought into light and assisted into Maturity —-So it could be right to call AFRICAN CONNECTION THEATRE ,a place of learning. The theatre will also be ready to put up Performances in Entertainment for various Occasions and Festivals,e.g.—Wedding and Naming ceremonies,Conventions and Festivals to mention a few. The theatre would also be able to create programs for Weekly,Monthly,Quarterly,Bi-Annually and Annual.

GOAL:-
The Goal of the Theatre will be (a) To produce Programs and Events of standards acknowledged worldwide—- With African themes occupying 75% of the presentations—— including
(1)Musicals,
(2)Literature,
(3)Dance
(4)Drama

These Events will benefit the Youths as well as the Adults in the Community. (b) To provide an avenue for Creative Minds who want to be in the Theatre(African) and also be able to exercise the wealth of Talents and Creations in the African Heritage of our Society. (c) The goal also is to use all Possible Media ——Stage,Television,Radio also Motion Pictures and the Newspapers——with African Connection Newspapers Inc. as the Parent Company.

MODE OF PRESENTATION.:
—-Music,Dance and Drama.

MUSIC:
—The Musical aspects of the Theatre will range also from Traditional to Contemporary—both Cultural and Creative. There will be classes teaching African Musical Instrumentations, Choruslines, Individual Solo Voice Trainings and also Musical Band(Worldbeat music).

DANCE:—(Cultural & Contemporary) Dancing in the theatre will also be both Traditional and Creative. Traditional dances will taught and performed—- to portray both Traditional and Creative Dance Steps and their various uses in Ritual and Social situations. There will be dances set to music to portray Working environments and different careers e.g.,Farmers, Hunters, Traders, even dances set to the work-music of a prison chain-gang.

DRAMA:—(Cultural & Contemporary)
Drama section will show acting straight dramas, both on Stage and Television.In thi section there will be training and performances in Acting, Storytelling, Voice projection, Script reading and Poetry —recited to music. To make all these possible, Classes will be created to teach them all. Rehearsals Time also will created for each production. There also will be a set time for full Theatre Rehearsals Itself.

PROGRAMS FREQUENCY.

WEEKLY:— The Weekly programs will Include:
(1)Music Classes
(2)Dance Classes
(3)Drama Classes.
The weekly Presentations will be both on Stage and Television(Subject to availability of Spaces).

MONTHLY:— Monthly programs will be organized events by the Theatre to Entertain the community—-both individuals and families. The programs will always be in variety form, with the featuring of Guest Artistes across the Globe. Again this is subject to availability of performance space.

QUARTERLY:— The quarterly programs will be an Expansion of the monthly programs. This will also include Guest Artistes, both Nationally and Internationally.

BI-ANNUALLY:— Bi-Annual programs will be arranged to Expand on the Quaterly,and will also include Guest Artistes,both Individuals and Groups from across the Globe,both Nationally and Internationally.

ANNUAL EVENTS:
— Annual Events are set in Festival Modes,to include all the programs of The African Connection Theatre. Also expanded to include Guest Artistes ,Cultural Troupes and Bands from across the Globe,both Nationally and Internationally.

ROYAL GIFTS. (A Variety Program of Cultural Entertainment.) Created by Dele Adefemi, for African Connection Theatre.

SYNOPSIS: Royal Gifts is a program of a variety of acts of the Performing Arts. With Music Dances and Drama ,and Folklore's, we showcase the African Cultural Heritage, our traditional Beliefs, Ways and Costumes of Life. The Set-up is to have a Storyteller who acts as the Narrator of the various stories that bring about the various Gifts. This Stories are re-enacted as the Narrator tells his story.

MOVEMENT ONE; Music & Dances Sitting of the Community in the Town Council Hall ( or place of gathering) Narrator is seen Telling a story to the gathering.

MOVEMENT TWO. The stage setting changes to suit whatever story is being told by the Narrator. The Artistes (Actors & Actresses,Dancers) will put the re-enactment of the story on stage, to enhance the story being told by the Narrator.

MOVEMENT THREE. This movement is the round up of the story re-enactment, by the Artistes Beautiful Music and Dances,brings the re-enactment to a Conclusion.

MOVEMENT FOUR; Now in this movement we come back to the Narrator and the Audience as in Movement One. The Narrator closes the story and offers the information about the next Story and also the next day and time of Gathering as normally expected.
